CO Expansion Units

It states in the documentation that the Allworx 6x supports CO expansion units.

Does anyone know how that works and/or have any recommendations on what unit would be good to try out? All the information I've tried to find just stated that it works with 3rd party products, but I'm not sure where to look for these items.
