I researched a request by a customer to see if Broadvoice (or any ITSP for that matter) can deliver a SIP equivalent to 'FLASH'.

The scenario for when a customer wants to transfer calls outside the office (i.e. to cell phone or home office) when using standard POTS lines delivered by the phone company, it can be transferred out in two different ways:

1) Call comes in on one line, and is transferred out on a second line - so in essence this one call is now taking two lines.

or

2) Having already ordered through your phone company the specific feature, 3-way conferencing, on your phone lines, a setting needs to be 'checked' in the configuration of Talkswitch. This checkbox is called Centrex/Plexar capability. This capability allows Talkswitch to send a 'flash' on the line - the call leaves Talkswitch completely, and rings your cell phone, home office, etc...

The customer wanted to know if his ITSP Broadvoice could deliver/listen for a SIP equivalent to 'flash'.

I contacted Broadvoice and found out that NO - unfortunately that feature functionality isn't available.
